Welcome to
Oklahoma Community Institute
Welcome to our web site designed to help you learn more about OCI and how it can help your community.
The Oklahoma Community Institute was created in 1995 as a result of a recommendation in Oklahoma’s 5-year economic development plan to focus on providing assistance to communities that want to help themselves. Our mission is “to be a catalyst that enables and encourages Oklahoma citizens to improve their communities.
To achieve this mission, OCI provides three areas of focus: Community-wide Strategic Planning, the Oklahoma Citizens Academy, and the Conference on Community Renewal. After you review our programs and services, contact us and let’s talk about your community needs and how OCI can help meet them.
As a non-profit organization, the OCI board consists of directors representing communities of all sizes, both rural and metropolitan. Size and location are not a consideration because we value and believe in Oklahoma communities and we are proud to be a part of their growth and advancement.
The following quote could serve as a summarization of what can happen when OCI and local citizens team up:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
Let’s get that partnership going today! Building Leaders … Building Communities! Look forward to hearing from you.
