Programs and Services

Helping communities design their own futures

Vibrant, self-sufficient communities are vital to the overall economic and social well-being of our state. However, as public funding for economic development, social services and other important programs becomes less available, local communities have been challenged to seek new, grass roots strategies for maintaining and improving their viability.

To aid communities in achieving desired results, OCI offers a range of services and products which may be utilized individually or in a comprehensive program depending on a community's needs. The services and products include:

Community-Wide Strategic Planning
From creating a vision and a situation analysis to identifying goals & objectives and defining a clear action plan, the Visioning & Planning component is specifically designed to systematically move communities toward a preferred future. learn more
Resource (Asset) Mapping
Asset-based community development concentrates on a community's current strengths and resources, not it's needs, and asks "what do we have here on which to build?" This process is vital for identifying and deploying existing resources to fulfill community goals. learn more
